LOOS Foundation
LOOS Foundation, is a prominent organization for experimental music and artistic research located in The Hague, Netherlands. Since its inception in 1982, LOOS Foundation has established itself as a vital hub for new music, embracing a wide spectrum of experimental, electro-acoustic, sound art, and audio art.
Studio LOOS was set up in 1996 as a concept and from 2004 until February 1st, 2025 a physical space in de DCR The Hague. There it operated as a workspace, laboratory, and public presentation space dedicated to research, experimentation, talent development, innovation, and production of interdisciplinary music and art forms.
The foundation emphasizes originality, authenticity, progressiveness, and high standards in performance and ideas. Moreover, Studio LOOS offered state-of-the-art sound and visual technical equipment, presentation and concert space, and facilities like a fully functional bar and kitchen.
On March 13, 2024 Studio LOOS celebrated its 20th anniversary and Director and Founder, Peter van Bergen, was honored by the city of The Hague with a prestigious royal recognition - Knight in the Order of Orange Nassau - presented by the esteemed Mayor of The Hague, Jan van Zanen.
